A 31-year-old woman is accused of using salt to poison an 8-year-old boy under her care.
Tiffany Johnson was taken into custody Monday for allegedly putting large amounts of salt into the boy’s gastric tube.
The boy, who is in a wheelchair and unable to care for himself, suffered from numerous ailments that resulted in more than six visits to Le Bonheur in less than half a year.
Doctors noted the boy’s sodium levels were increased significantly, which didn’t happen before Johnson started caring for him and hasn’t happened since she left.
Johnson has a bond hearing next week.
