The other type of chair, transport wheelchair can have rear wheels that can range from 8” to 14” in diameter. These chairs are designed for being propelled and pushed by a caretaker or a medical assistant.

An adult wheelchair can also refer to a power wheelchair that is assisted by a battery(s) to be able to propel the chair. There is a joystick that is used in order to be able to move the chair around without exerting much energy.
